We created Casa Firefly because we craved a space for growth and community. We wanted to build something that we felt we were missing in the busy day to day of the “real world”. We wanted to be somewhere that gave us the space and inspiration to reconnect to our real authentic selves. A space to heal and remember what is truly important. So, we made Casa Firefly, a space to share. We hope it will bring to you what its brought to us. Our mission is to join together and create an atmosphere where people feel able to open up, learn, and grow together. We’ve created our space to feel safe and comforting to contrast the personal growth that we hope will take place in our retreats. We want you to feel you have somewhere that lets you relax, unwind, and reflect, letting you push your boundaries in between. Our space is definitely considered luxury, and we love the contrast of getting our feet muddy and being wild, then coming back to somewhere you can feel pampered.
Our Space
We have 6 private guest suites. In our shared space we have a beautiful large pool, yoga shala, and dining area. There’s an outdoor shower to wash off from the beach and a handicap accessible bathroom with an additional shower as well. Our onstay residence includes an additional private suite for guest retreat leaders. We have a commercial kitchen with private chef and are currently working on a greenhouse with the goal of producing more of our own food.
In our retreats we work with a local organic farm to supply farm to table meals and support the farmers in our area. We have an incredible chef during our retreats because we know how important it is to feed your body and spirit with good food. If you are staying with us between our retreats, there are a variety of great spots to eat in Cahuita, and a couple of restaurants within closer walking distance.
The area around us is so abundant with fun things to do. Take a walk on the beach and a morning swim, explore the waterfalls near us, visit Cahuita National Park, or do a day trip to Puerto Viejo and eat at a nice restaurant . There are endless incredible activities to experience in our area and we are more than happy to make recommendations. A few of our add on excursions include: Horse back riding on the beach, chocolate tour, surfing and snorkeling.
Most people land somewhere on the Pacific side of Costa Rica but we believe that the Caribbean coast is rich with culture and animals that you won’t see on the pacific. This place has something special to offer.
We want to share our space with you! Wether you’re an experienced retreat leader or have always had the vision of throwing your own fun week somewhere exotic with friends, we’re here to help guide you. Contact us to inquire about renting out our space for your own retreat and let us help you bring your ideas to life.

a year agoWe spent a week there for a yoga retreat. The jungle location and stunning black sand beach within walking distance are amazing! They have the best open shala I ever practiced yoga in. The super healthy food is made with lots of local ingredient and feels homemade. The owners/host made us feel like we were visiting friends more than staying at a small lodge resort. They were always available but also discreet and respectful at the same time.

a year agoBeautiful setting. Felt like paradise. Marc and Stacy are excellent hosts. They accommodate all their guests needs. Easy walk to 4 different beaches. 40 min walk to a national park. I felt safe the whole time.

2 years agoLovely hotel with nice rooms and pretty grounds. I stayed here for two nights and it was a great choice. One night I spent hours chatting with owner and it was a blast. I learned a lot about the area and Costa Rica in general. The Cahuita National Park was one of my top experiences in the country, so if you’re looking to visit it, this hotel would be an excellent choice. The staff can give you numbers for taxis and to return to the hotel you can grab a cab in front of the main bank in town. Thanks for the great hospitality!

a year agoGreat place for my first-time Costa Rican visit. A retreat that has beautiful quiet beaches nearby and lots of wildlife on site. Rooms are clean, and the hosts know a lot about the local area and customs. The hosts provide yoga classes and teachings. We rented through Air b&b but had such a wonderful stay. I had to give it a Google rating as well. Cahuita is minutes away, friendly, with great places to eat and no end to activities. I recommend trying the "sodas" local food that is beyond delicious.

a year agoThis place was a little piece of heaven in the jungle. We managed an escape over the Spring Break holiday to stay at Casa Firefly and get to know the area. There are numerous well- guided entertainment options in the area, a quiet beach within walking distance, amazing food, yoga & an onsite pool to cool off in… such a fantastic experience.
